Writing is an important part of the preschool experience. Children have many opportunities to practice their writing skills by writing stories, lists, names, and numbers.

Creative expression, writing and drawing help extend childrens learning and allows them to construct new knowledge.

Children learn concepts such as balance, geometry and cooperation when working with materials in our classrooms.

Children are given experience in art everyday. Painting, markers, glue, scissors and many more items are available in the classroom.

Social development is an important preschool skill. Children in our program are supported socially and academically each day.

Reenacting experiences, like a trip to the zoo helps children understand their experiences better. In our program, materials to support this are available every day.

There is a computer in every HCESC Head Start classroom. Children have a opportunity everyday to interact with appropriate software.

Outdoor play is important for large muscle development in children. Our facilities have a variety of playground and indoor large muscle equipment.
